Therapy is a unique experience for everyone. Some are seeking support with removing barriers to experiencing joy, while others are in a place of exploration seeking a truer sense of self. What is universal is that for therapy to be effective it needs to be rooted in a safe and non-judgmental environment. As a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families, I assist clients in developing an awareness of patterns of thoughts, feelings, and body sensations. The human experience is not perfect yet one learns to manage one’s thoughts and emotions associated with life's struggles and its joys. I have assisted clients in changing self-defeating patterns, making peace with past pain, and learning new practical skills that foster empowerment and wisdom. I have a holistic approach and I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, identity development, and substance use disorders.
I also work with life transitions, work-related stress, career challenges, financial coaching, social/relational skills, and LGBTQ+.
My therapy approach focuses on meeting one where they are. Some might find it helpful to engage in short-term or solution-focused therapy to deal with a specific problem. Others might find it beneficial to explore long-term treatment to help gain insight into family/cultural origins or unhelpful learned adaptive behaviors that are causing distress. I am committed to exploring with you to identify barriers to joy and esteem, and being your most authentic self!
Therapy is a calling for me and I have witnessed the difference and how clients developed a better outlook on their future. I enjoy hearing client’s testimonies how things changed for the better. In my free time, I am committed to my own self-care whether that be quality time family and friends, taking long walks with my dog, or trying something new. I love to travel and experience culture. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be in community with others and witnessing pure joy.
